About the team

Join a dynamic team of three Senior Service Desk Officers, dedicated to delivering excellence in service to our colleagues and providing mentorship to current junior staff—all within brand new surroundings.

About this opportunity:

This role offers the opportunity to be a key member of a dynamic IT Service Desk team, providing essential technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of Council’s IT systems. You will play a vital part in supporting staff, maintaining IT infrastructure, and driving improvements in service delivery and user experience.

What you’ll deliver                          

  • Efficient Incident Management: Provide timely and effective first-level technical support, triage incidents, resolve hardware/software issues, and escalate as necessary to maintain service standards.
  • User & Systems Administration: Manage user accounts, devices, and core applications, ensuring smooth onboarding/offboarding and compliance with IT policies and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Equipment & Asset Maintenance: Proactively maintain IT and AV equipment, keep accurate asset records, and support the lifecycle management of hardware and software.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Work closely with team members to resolve issues, support team priorities, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
  • Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing: Create and update support documentation, deliver training to users, and recommend process improvements to reduce incident volume and enhance IT service delivery.

Your Skills and Experience

  • TAFE-level qualifications in Information Technology or similar, or equivalent hands-on experience gained through practical application
  • Proven background in IT Service Desk support, with a strong track record of resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft environments, including Active Directory Services, Microsoft Teams, Intune, 365 Administration Centres, TeamViewer, Windows 10/11, and Office 365 applications.
  • ITILv4 certification highly regarded
  • Excellent team player with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service in a professional and approachable manner.
