The Arts, Events and Libraries Department at the City of Kingston is focused on the delivery of industry leading contemporary programs, activities and events. The Front of House Operations Officer proactively assists the Front of House (FOH) team to deliver exceptional customer service to patrons, clients and all users of the venue. The position is responsible for assisting in the management of all FOH operations, working in close collaboration with other teams in event planning, coordination, and delivery to ensure excellent administrative, financial and operational outcomes.

 

The role

We are seeking a Front of House Operations Officer to join the Kingston Arts team. Reporting to the Coordinator, Front of House, your role is to:

  • Contribute to the planning, coordination and smooth delivery of safe and successful events within Kingston Arts’ venues across all front of house activities including the bar and cafe, the performance venue, FOH staff and volunteers.
  • Manage the resources required to facilitate all events, including event information and floor plans, staff rostering, and stock management.
  • Supervise and work closely alongside the FOH staff and volunteers in line with Council’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all relevant OHS regulations are adhered to within the FOH facilities and that best industry practice is applied appropriately.

 

About you

You will have:

  • Completion or progress towards completion of a relevant degree or diploma course with some relevant work experience in FOH service delivery or event management at a performing arts venue, events/functions venue, or similar or significant experience working in a similar position.
  • Experience working in a FOH team at a performing arts venue, events/functions venue, or similar.
  • Demonstrated administration skills and attention to detail along with highly developed computer skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values of Future Orientated, Accountable, Dynamic, Expert, Community and Celebration
