About the team 

Our Health & Wellbeing team delivers safe, inclusive and high-quality fitness experiences across our leisure centre and community spaces. We work together to create welcoming environments where participants feel supported, motivated, and confident to stay active 

About the role  

We are seeking casual Group Fitness Instructors to plan and deliver engaging group fitness classes that support positive participant experiences and customer satisfaction. 

The role will work across Waves Leisure Centre & Mordi Aquatic centre, with additional opportunities to deliver classes for community centres and hubs across the Kingston municipality.  

Classes may be delivered indoors or outdoors. 

We're recruiting now for these exciting opportunities, with successful candidates anticipated to start closer to the opening of the new Mordi Aquatic Centre 

What you’ll deliver:  

  • Safe, engaging group fitness classes that meet participant needs  

  • Accurate and authentic delivery of Les Mills choreography (where applicable)  

  • Well-prepared, safe class environments  

  • Clear instruction, supervision, and equipment guidance  

  • Positive, professional responses to customer enquiries  

  • Promotion of centre programs and services  

  • Consistent teamwork and support within the Health & Wellbeing team  

  • Compliance with all health, safety, and organisational requirements 

Your Skills and Experience  

We’re Looking for qualified Group Fitness instructors with experience across a range of programs, Including Les Mills, Wellness, Reformer Pilates, Freestyle ad Aqua, to help deliver engaging and inclusive fitness experience for the community. 

You will bring 

  • Experience delivering group fitness classes 

  • Relevant program-specific qualifications (e.g. Les Mills, Reformer Pilates, Aqua) 

  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate  

  • Current CPR Certificate  

  • Certificate 3 in Fitness (desirable) 

  • Professional Industry Registration (desirable) 

  • Sound communication skills and a customer focused approach
