About the team

This role sits within the Planning & Place administration team who are a vibrant high performing team who love working and collaborating with the multiple teams they support to provide excellent outcomes and service to the residents of the City of Kingston.

A bit about the role

We are looking for an administration officer to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to the City Development, Municipal Building Surveyors and City Strategy departments.

Other Responsibilities include

  • Provide “first-line” reception to customers, screen and take accurate details of the phone calls and enquiries for the City Development, Municipal Building Surveyors and City Strategy Departments
  • Provide a variety of administration functions
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with other work teams to ensure effective linkages that support continuous improvement of services provided to customers

Your Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of the Victorian Planning and Environment Act 1987, the Subdivision Act 1988 and/or the Building Act 1983, Building Regulations 2006 and Building Code of Australia and any relevant regulation would be an advantage
  • Experience in the processing of planning and building applications. 
  • Knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite and Pathway
