The Children’s Services Partnerships Team at the City of Kingston delivers inclusive, high-quality early years programs that support families and promote child development across the municipality.
About the role/ A bit about the role/About this opportunity:
The City of Kingston is seeking a passionate and flexible Casual Playgroup Facilitator to deliver inclusive, high-quality playgroup sessions for children aged 0–5 and their families. This role includes facilitating sessions that incorporate the Smalltalk parenting program, with a strong focus on child development, family support, and community connection.
Other Responsibilities include:
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate playgroup sessions across Kingston
Facilitate Smalltalk-informed activities that promote positive parenting and early learning
Build respectful relationships with families, responding to diverse needs and backgrounds
Uphold the Victorian Child Safe Standards, ensuring safe and inclusive environments for all children
Work collaboratively with Council teams and local services to support family wellbeing
Provide on-call support to cover sessions across various locations within the municipality
Your Skills and Experience
Strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments
Demonstrated commitment to child safety and wellbeing, including cultural safety for Aboriginal children and children from diverse backgrounds
Current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
