Join our team as the Team Leader Community Diversity and Inclusion

The Community Diversity and Inclusion Team works alongside community and partners to create stronger and more connected communities with a focus on reconciliation, diversity, access, equity and inclusion.

About the role:

We are looking for a Team Leader Community Diversity & Inclusion to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team responsible for reconciliation, community diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Other Responsibilities include:               

  • Provide leadership in developing programs that celebrate diversity and promote reconciliation, cultural diversity, and LGBTIQA+ inclusion.
  • Develop and implement strategic policy and programs that foster social inclusion.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to inform policy development, service planning, and community engagement efforts.
  • Oversee the management of the Derrimut Weelam Gathering Place.

Your Skills and Experience 

We are looking for someone with:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic policy and initiatives that enhance diversity, inclusion, and community resilience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community consultation, engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum degree) in Community Development or related Social Sciences, with extensive project management experience.
