About the role

This is more than a financial management role, it’s an opportunity to guide, influence and create lasting impact.

You’ll inspire and support a dedicated finance team while acting as a trusted advisor to the executive team and council members. By combining strategic vision with hands-on expertise, you’ll ensure our resources are managed with integrity, transparency, and care.

What you’ll be doing                          

  • Guide and mentor the finance team, fostering collaboration, growth, and strong performance
  • Coordinate budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies with accurate reporting
  • Provide expert guidance on financial regulations and compliance
  • Oversee payroll, accounts, rates, asset valuation, investments, and tax obligations
  • Enhance efficiency through systems such as MyFinance/Technology One and Pathway
  • Review financial data and risks, providing clear insights to support organisational outcomes

What makes you stand out?

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, business or a related field, with strong relevant experience
  • Proven strength in leading and empowering diverse and high-performing teams within complex organisation environments
  • Experience supporting executives, boards, and driving continuous improvement in service-focused environments
  • A collaborative, open mindset that values partnerships across teams and embraces continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex financial information for different audiences
