  • Band 6, $100,968 - $110,162 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation (dependent on experience)
  • Based at the Cheltenham office
About the Environmental Planning team 

Environmental Planning's aim is to inspire and empower our organisation and our community to protect and enhance the environment and tackle climate change.  We are a passionate team, dedicated to facilitating change.

About the role

We are looking for an Environment Officer to join our team, reporting to the Team Leader, Environmental Planning. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and deliver environmental communications, including our regular Living Sustainably and Sustainable Educators newsletters.
  • Coordinate delivery of community environmental education opportunities, including workshops
  • Manage partnerships with existing delivery partners.

Other Responsibilities include                         

  • Oversee a communications and education budget, under direction of the Team Leader Environmental Planning
  • Manage stakeholder relationships - both internally and externally.                                                                               
  • Deliver occasional presentations to community and school groups, as required
  • Develop annual work program.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Outstanding skills in clear and concise oral and written communication
  • Ability to manage a range of stakeholder needs while working independently and as part of a team
  • Experience implementing community education and environmental behaviour change programs
  • A tertiary qualification in communications/ community education/ development / environment /sustainability, or similar.
  • Previous experience in an environmental or education role will be highly regarded.
