Join our team as an Operations Assistant Coordinator!

As the Operations Assistant Coordinator, you will support the Operations Coordinator in delivering safe, compliant, and efficient operations across Kingston's Aquatic and Leisure facilities. This leadership role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management of facility operations, staff supervision, maintenance coordination, contractor management, compliance activities and emergency response.

Working closely with Venue Supervisors, Operations Supervisor and Lifeguards, you will play a key role in fostering a positive team culture, driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring exceptional service delivery for our community.

About the role

This role supports the delivery of high-quality aquatic and leisure services through staff leadership, compliance monitoring and customer service excellence. You will assist in maintaining safe and well-presented facilities while contributing to strategic and day to day operational outcomes.

What you'll deliver

Your role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Supporting the safe, compliant and efficient operation of Kingston's aquatic and leisure facilities.
  • Supervising and supporting operational staff while fostering a positive team culture.
  • Coordinating facility inspections, maintenance activities and contractor works.
  • Assisting with incident management, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting staff training, onboarding and development to maintain high operational standards.
  • Providing exceptional customer service and supporting the resolution of operational issues and customer enquiries.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in facility operations within an aquatic and/or leisure environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading or supervising large teams
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and facility operations
  • Pool Operator's Certificate*
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification*
  • Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate*
  • Employee Working with Children's Check
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 and industry-specific systems

*Attained through a nationally recognised training organisation where applicable.
