We are seeking a dynamic Public Arts Officer to join the Arts, Events & Libraries Department. Reporting to the Visual Arts Coordinator, your role is to:
Support the delivery of Kingston Arts’ annual Public Art Program across the municipality.
Provide curatorial expertise, support and advice to artists, curators, arts organisations, council officers and technical experts.
Facilitate and coordinate public art procurement in line with relevant Council policies across creative and open spaces, and activity centres.
Coordinate a formal application process and host site visits, field enquiries and develop advertisements, EOIs, curator and artist briefs; and facilitating public art installations and launches.
We are looking for someone with:
Demonstrated experience supporting or delivering public art programs or projects within a commercial, community, cooperative or government setting.
High level of oral and written communication skills.
High level of organisational and project management skills
The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Tertiary qualification in Arts Administration, Public Art, Visual Arts, Cultural Management, or a related discipline; or relevant experience in a comparable field.
