  • Band 4 $74,303 - $ 79,054 per annum (dependent on experience) plus superannuation 

About this opportunity 

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Playground Inspector to join our dedicated Sportsgrounds and Reserves Team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining Kingston’s playgrounds and recreational equipment to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and enjoyable for community use.

What you’ll deliver                    

  • Conduct scheduled inspections and condition audits of playgrounds, skate ramps, sports courts, and fitness equipment

  • Undertake maintenance and repairs on recreational and playground equipment

  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers to coordinate installations and repair works in line with Australian Standards

  • Maintain accurate asset records and respond to customer service requests using Council’s IT systems

  • Contribute to project planning, continuous improvement, and interdepartmental collaboration for play space upgrades

Your Skills and Experience

  • Relevant trade qualification, Level 2 Playground Safety Inspector certification, or demonstrated experience in playground maintenance and safety auditing.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian playground safety standards and industry best practices for maintenance.

  • Demonstrated experience in contractor management, on the job training, and mobile work systems

  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence 

  • Valid Working with Children check (or willing to obtain)
