      • Be a key player in our team supporting the delivery and ongoing care of Kingston Council’s growing Public Art Collection.
      • Fixed-term, part-time position (0.2 FTE), approximately one day per week, as a job share until July 2026.
      • $81,188 – $93,494 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation

      The Arts, Events and Libraries Department at the City of Kingston is focused on the delivery of industry leading contemporary programs, activities, and events.       The role

      We are seeking a dynamic Public Arts Officer to join the Arts, Events & Libraries Department. Reporting to the Visual Arts Coordinator, your role is to:

      • Assist in the development and delivery of Kingston’s Public Art program.
      • Assist in delivering the annual maintenance schedule for the Public Art Collection. 
      • Contribute to stakeholder engagement strategies in liaison with internal and external partners.

      Given the part-time nature of this role, responsibilities will focus on project deliverables and ongoing operational priorities. This includes

      • Management of the Public Art Collection maintenance program
      • Collection data administration
      • Contributing to supporting resources and web content
      • Providing additional support provided to the team during peak periods.

      The role is ideally suited to one full working day per week to enable effective handover and collaboration. While there is flexibility regarding the day worked, availability on Thursdays is not required due to existing team arrangements.

      About you

      We are looking for someone with:

      • Experience with a public art portfolio in a commercial, community, cooperative or government setting.
      • Demonstrated experience in the administration of collection management systems.
      • High level of oral and written communication skills.
      • High level of organisational and project management skills
      • The ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
      • Tertiary qualifications in arts administration or a related discipline with experience in public art highly desirable.
