A bit about the role:

In this hands-on role, you’ll help maintain and repair Council’s civil infrastructure, including roads, drains, and footpaths. You’ll carry out both routine maintenance and respond to issues as they arise, ensuring our community’s assets remain safe, clean, and well maintained.

This role also includes participating in an after-hours response roster.

Other Responsibilities include:                          

  • Maintaining and repairing council's civil infrastructure assets, including roads, footpaths, and drainage systems
  • Operating a range of plant and equipment, such as trucks, backhoes, and compaction equipment
  • Ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to quality standards and environmental regulations
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents and stakeholders

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in civil construction and maintenance work, preferably in a local government setting
  • A current driver's license (minimum Medium rigid) and the ability to operate plant and equipment safely
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Certificates in forklift, front-end loader, and/or backhoe (preferred)
  • Valid Victorian traffic control and management certification (desirable)
