About the role

We are looking for a Coordinator - Research and Community Infrastructure Planning to join our team. In this role, you will lead evidence-based approaches to social research and community infrastructure planning across the organisation.

This role is responsible for Council’s Community Infrastructure Framework and leading an integrated and evidence-based approach to research, planning and evaluation across the organisation.  Working collaboratively with teams is essential in championing this holistic approach to planning for our diverse and growing community.  

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in working closely with the Research Officer and connecting with staff across the organisation to achieve meaningful change.

What you’ll deliver                          

  • Lead and oversee Council’s community infrastructure framework that is collaborative, data-driven, service-centric and community-focused. 
  • Oversee data collation and analysis about our community to contribute to service planning, project delivery and decision making.
  • Facilitate collaboration and excellent working relationships across the organisation to embed integrated research and community infrastructure planning approaches.   
  • Provide specialist advice to management, Council and other teams on relevant community issues, projects and programs.  

What you’ll bring

  • Knowledge and experience in social research and community infrastructure planning. 
  • Excellent skills in building relationships, communicating and engaging with a diverse range of people to gain their cooperation and assistance. 
  • Well-developed analytical skills to formulate policy options within a broad organisation-wide framework. 
  • Tertiary qualifications in social science or relevant discipline, which includes analysis of social data, with several years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
