    The Role

    Based at our Dingley Village depot, the Drainage Maintenance Crew member is a hands-on field role within the City Works team, responsible for keeping Kingston's drainage network functioning safely and effectively for our community. You will work as part of a close-knit crew carrying out scheduled and reactive maintenance across Council's underground and open drain assets.

    • Carry out routine and reactive maintenance of drains, pits, pipes, and open waterway channels across the municipality
    • Operate plant and equipment including jet rodders, vacuum trucks, and hand tools in line with safe work procedures
    • Identify defects, hazards, and asset condition issues and report findings accurately to supervisors
    • Work safely in traffic-management environments and confined space settings in accordance with Council's safety standards

    About You

    • Demonstrated experience in drainage, civil maintenance, or a related outdoor infrastructure field
    • Current valid Victorian driver's licence (truck licence advantageous)
    • Ability to operate plant and equipment relevant to drainage maintenance works
    • Understanding of and commitment to safe work practices on and around roads
    • Reliable, physically capable of outdoor manual work in varying weather conditions
