Finance department manages Council’s finances to ensure compliance with statutory financial and reporting obligations and Council’s long-term financial sustainability. Responsibilities include preparation of the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan and administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. Additionally, the department oversees Council’s property and rating database and the annual revaluation of properties, to ensure rate revenue is raised accurately and on time.

The role

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner professional to join the Budgeting and Reporting Team. Reporting to the Team Leader Budgeting and Reporting, your role is to:

  • Take accountability for ensuring the end of month reporting process for their business areas is achieved
  • Act as the key point of contact for departmental managers in all monthly reporting matters;
  • Assist with the Operational budgeting and reporting process
  • Support Managers in the development of their budgets by providing system support and advice
  • Participate in projects, as required

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • CPA / Accounting degree or similar is necessary
  • Three to five years’ experience in financial / management accounting environment
  • Experience in a strong customer service orientated role
  • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values of;
