About the team

The Finance department manages Council’s finances to ensure compliance with statutory financial and reporting obligations and Council’s long-term financial sustainability. Responsibilities include preparation of the Annual Budget and Long-Term Financial Plan and administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll. Additionally, the department oversees Council’s property and rating database and the annual revaluation of properties, to ensure rate revenue is raised accurately and on time

What you'll do

We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to join the Budgeting and Reporting Team. Reporting to the Team Leader Budgeting and Reporting your role will:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring the end of month reporting process for allocated business areas is completed accurately and on time
  • Act as the key contact for departmental managers on all monthly reporting matters
  • Support the operational budgeting and reporting process
  • Assist Managers in developing their budgets through system support and expert advice
  • Participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Your Skills and Experience 

  • CPA / Accounting degree or equivalent
  • Three to five years experience in financial or management accounting environment
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer focused or service orientated role
