About this opportunity
As a Reserves Response Officer, you’ll play an important role in maintaining Kingston’s parks, reserves and public open spaces. Your work helps create safe, clean and enjoyable environments for families, children and the wider community. This role is hands on, varied and supported by a friendly and supportive team who will help you build confidence with tools, equipment and systems — whether you’re experienced or looking to grow your skills.
What you’ll do
- Carry out routine and responsive maintenance, including general maintenance, landscaping, litter collection, graffiti removal and painting.
- Assist with repairs and installation of park furniture, gates, bins and recreational infrastructure
- Support inspections, small project delivery and asset condition audits
- Use Council’s IT systems to accurately record and report maintenance activities
What you'll bring
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. You may have formal qualifications (such as a Trade Certificate) or hands‑on experience from fields like gardening, landscaping, construction or general maintenance
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is proficient or willing to become proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery (training provided)
- Holds a valid Victorian driver’s licence (manual MR preferred but not essential)
- Enjoys working as part of a team and communicating with others
- Takes pride in contributing to community wellbeing
