The Building Maintenance team manages Council buildings to ensure they are safe, compliant, and well maintained. The team works with contractors and internal staff to deliver reliable services

About the role

As Senior Building Operations Officer, you will lead a team responsible for monitoring the compliance, safety and condition of buildings and assets, as well as overseeing various building service contracts. This role also supports the day-to-day operations of our municipal building, including performing Chief Fire warden duties.

The key responsibilities of the role include auditing, reporting and communicating building condition audit results.  You will also work with the team to coordinate corrective actions. 

Key Responsibilities include                       

  • Develop and lead the internal auditing program and schedules
  • Assess, evaluate, and maintain accurate records of building assets
  • Manage service contracts to ensure compliance with agreements, service standards, timeframes, and budget
  • Monitor and report on contractor performance
