We employ over 1,500 people in a diverse range of roles including engineering, customer service, administration, finance, family, youth and children's services, sport and recreation, health, parks and gardens, planning, arts and management.

The Integrated Water Management (IWM) Coordinator will play an important role in advancing Councils IWM objectives. The position will focus on coordinating and implementing strategies to achieve key goals relating to water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), asset management, community engagement, organisational capacity building, and data monitoring.

  • oversee and facilitate the incorporation of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles in all capital projects, including harvesting and infiltration.
  • assist with the development and implementation of maintenance plans for integrated water management assets.
  • design and execute programs that inform and engage the community, encouraging participation in water-sensitive practices.
  • establishing robust systems for recording data related to integrated water management initiatives and monitor progress towards defined goals, which should inform renewal and maintenance budgets.

This is an influential role which needs to work across the organisation to deliver on IWM objectives.

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in integrated water management and/or climate change mitigation and adaptation.
  • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values of Future Orientated, Accountable, Dynamic, Expert, Community and Celebration
  • A tertiary qualification in environmental/sustainability planning, science, or a closely related discipline with several years relevant experience in the public or private sector or a lesser qualification with extensive experience in the public or private sector.
