Welcome to Kingston City Council! We are a proud provider with over 50 years of experience offering Before and After School/Holiday Programs to our local community. If you are a teacher in training or an experienced Educator, we want to hear from you! We have multiple positions available to those who have extensive experience working Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) or those who are starting on their OSHC journey.

The hours of work are as follows:

    • Before School Program Shifts: Between 6:45am and 8:45am
    • After School Program Shifts: Between 2:30pm and 6:15pm
    • Holiday programs: Shifts between 7:00am and 6:15pm during the school holiday period.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR OSHC EDUCATORS

    • Work as part of our team to plan, document and evaluate a range of creative and fun recreational activities which respond to children interests and needs.
    • Provide children with new experiences and the opportunity to learn new skills.
    • Facilitate and support children's inclusion by building strong and positive relationships.
    • Encourage and maintain an outstanding quality standard throughout the service.
    • Assist in establishing daily routines and create appropriate limits and boundaries for children to encourage positive behaviour.
    • Become part of the school community by building solid, positive relationships with school leaders and families/carers.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED AT KINGSTON OSHC

    • A minimum Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (All approved qualifications can be found on the AECQA website) Diploma and Bachelor Qualifications in Early Childhood and Educator fields are desired.
    • Effective communication skills
    • Level 2 First Aid Certificate with CPR having been completed in the last 12 months
    • Anaphylaxis Management Training
    • Asthma Management Training
    • Current Drivers Licence
    • Working with Children Check (working, not volunteer)

We are looking for someone with:

    • Minimum of a Certificate 3 in Childcare, experience working in OSHC/childcare/kindergarten
    • A passion for working with children and young people,
    • Great communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
    • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values by Making a difference, showing care and respect, taking pride in our work.

The salary for this position starts at $42.45 per hour (Band 3) plus superannuation.
