The City of Kingston overseas for a diverse range of open spaces including Sportsgrounds, Reserves, Playgrounds, Horticulture, Urban Forrest, Foreshore and Bushland assets within the municipality. Our Open Space team is responsible for these areas and within the broader team, there is a diversity of roles. 

The role

We are seeking a Contract Administrator to join our Open Space Team. Reporting to Emily Boucher, your role is to:

  • supervise and monitor the performance and service condition of relevant large, complex contracts within the Open Space Department
  • communicating and coordinating with staff, contractors, the community and other departments within Council
  • meet with contractors and administer contracts
  • consult internally and externally to build relationships
  • develop technical specifications in consultation with subject matter experts
  • lead the development of contract and tender documentation, technical requirements, and procurement

This newly created role will contribute to the success of the department through active teamwork and the effective supervision and performance of the contracts. This is a satisfying and busy role where your contribution is valued. 

About you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline with relevant experience or alternatively, a lesser formal qualification with substantial relevant experience
  • Contract management experience, including development, award, and delivery of contracts.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of technical specifications and procurement processes.
  • Ability to demonstrate the City of Kingston’s values of:
