About this opportunity

As the Project Delivery Lead (Major Projects), you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of the major capital projects portfolio, including planning, delivery and handover. You’ll collaborate with a skilled team to manage budgets, risks, and outcomes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard. This role is central to fostering strong partnerships across the organisation, with government agencies, contractors, and our community. 

What you’ll deliver                            

  • Manage, mentor and support a team of project managers 

  • Oversee delivery of the Major Projects portfolio including risks, budgets, timelines and project performance to deliver successful outcomes 

  • Foster a positive, inclusive and safe team culture where everyone feels valued 

  • Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Prepare project scopes, reports, funding submissions and business cases 

  • Drive continuous improvements across project systems, processes and practices 

Your Skills and Experience  

  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related discipline 

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects (local government experience desirable) 

  • Proven leadership capability and experience guiding diverse teams  

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

  • Ability to navigate complexities, exercise balanced judgement and motivate others
