About this opportunity
As Team Leader Active Kingston Design and Delivery, you’ll provide expert leadership and direction across the planning, design and delivery of Council’s active leisure, sport and recreation projects.
You’ll oversee a multidisciplinary team to translate Kingston’s strategic targets and community aspirations into inclusive, sustainable and financially responsible infrastructure.
Managing a diverse capital works portfolio, you’ll guide projects from concept to completion, ensuring each one meets quality, governance, budget and time requirements.
What you’ll deliver
Direction and coordination of capital works projects, including sport and recreation facilities, playgrounds and foreshore infrastructure
High quality design outcomes that reflect Council and community priorities, embedding sustainability, accessibility and universal design principles
Asset planning and renewal strategies that support long term community needs and responsible investment
Strong partnerships and open communication with stakeholders, including Councillors, community groups, sporting clubs and government agencies, to deliver shared outcomes
A positive and inclusive team environment that empowers people to perform at their best and celebrate collective success
Your Skills and Experience
You are an experienced and collaborative leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about creating places that bring communities together.
What you'll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in sport or recreation planning, project management or a related field.
Extensive experience coordinating teams and delivering complex capital works or infrastructure projects.
Proven ability to manage budgets, risks and timelines within a strong governance framework.
Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and problem solving skills.
A commitment to inclusion, sustainability and continuous improvement in service delivery
