Looking for a role that keeps every day different? We’re seeking a confident, flexible Diploma Qualified Educator to join our team as a Permanent Relief (Floater), supporting multiple rooms, age groups, and teams across varied shifts at our Carrum Family and Children's Centre.

  • Band 4 - $74,303 - $79,054 per annum (pro-rata) plus superannuation (dependent on experience)
  • Location:  Carrum Family and Children's Centre

Positions available:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

A bit about the role

As a Diploma Qualified Early Years Educator Permanent Relief (Floater), you’ll play a flexible and valued role delivering high-quality, responsive care and education across different rooms and age groups. Working alongside a range of teams and guided by the Education and Care Leader (Room Leader) or Early Childhood Teacher, you’ll support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of children’s learning while providing consistent leadership and support wherever needed.

In this role you will:

    • Supervise Children: Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child by actively supervising their activities at all times, across different rooms and age groups.
    • Flexible Support: Demonstrate adaptability by working varied shifts and stepping into different team environments to support children of all ages and abilities as required.
    • Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships with children, families, and a variety of team members.
    • Support Routines: Maintain effective daily routines and systems that provide continuity and stability for children, regardless of room or setting.
    • Curriculum Development: Contribute to planning, implementing, and evaluating engaging learning experiences that reflect the EYLF and respond to diverse needs and developmental stages.
    • Work Together: Collaborate effectively with leaders, educators, families, children, and the wider community to ensure consistent, high-quality practice across the service.
    • Quality & Compliance: Adhere to the National Quality Standards, National Regulations, and the Early Years Learning Framework.
    • Program Implementation: Support the delivery of high-quality programs that respond to the individual strengths, interests, and needs of children, families, and staff across the service.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications: Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).

  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Confident and flexible in working across varied shift times, rooms, age groups, and team environments, with the ability to quickly build rapport and provide consistent, high-quality practice.

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting children of different ages and abilities and working collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Clearances: Current Employee Working with Children Check.

  • First Aid: Level 2 First Aid certification, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis management and CPR.

  • Curriculum Knowledge: Sound understanding of the Victorian and National Curriculum Frameworks, National Quality Standards, and current Regulations.
