We’re looking for an Information Management Analyst to join our Records & Data team and play a key role in delivering modern, efficient, and compliant records and information management solutions.  

Reporting directly to the Head of Records & Data, you will be responsible for championing information management practices across the organisation including: 

  • Provide expert advice on information management standards, policies, and legislation.
  • Support compliance with classification, retention, and disposal requirements.
  • Administer, configure, and optimise Council’s Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).
  • Improve governance and lifecycle management across Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, and other workspaces).
  • Identify opportunities for automation, AI, and integration to streamline processes.
  •  Deliver training, resources, and workshops that build organisational capability.
  •  Support audits, eDiscovery, digital mailroom, and data migration activities.
  • Collaborate with technology and cyber security teams to align information management with security and privacy requirements.

What you’ll deliver:

Reporting directly to the Head of Records & Data, you will: 

  • Champion governance, compliance, and lifecycle management practices across Council’s information assets. 
  • Partner with business units to improve processes, optimise system use, and build organisational capability.  
  • Administer and enhance Council’s Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) and Microsoft 365 environments.  
  • Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and integration to improve user experience and service delivery.  
  • Work closely with our Cyber Security team to align information management practices with security, privacy, and governance requirements. 
  • Support staff through training, workshops, and day-to-day guidance to embed strong information management practices.

About you 

You bring: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in information/records management, business analysis, or a related field, with relevant experience.  
  • Strong knowledge of records and information management principles, standards, and legislation (e.g. Public Records Act 1973, PROV Standards).  
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise information systems, particularly EDRMS and Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams).  
  • Skills in metadata management, information governance, lifecycle management, and system administration.  
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.  
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 

Desirable extras include certifications such as RIMPA, AIIM, Microsoft 365 Information Protection, or ITIL Foundation, as well as experience working in Local Government or another regulated public sector environment.
