Job Task Analysis - Information & Digital Technology Leadership
Join Kingston City Council’s Information & Digital Technology team and play a key role in protecting the systems and information that support our people, services and community. We’re strengthening our cyber security capability and seeking a strategic, driven leader to guide our next phase.
This is an exciting time to come on board. In this newly created leadership role, you’ll be responsible for leading Council’s cyber security program, covering operations, governance, risk, incident response and cultural uplift across the organisation.
Reporting to the Manager, Information & Digital Technology, you will drive:
You bring extensive experience leading cyber and information security functions in complex or regulated environments, and you're ready to take the next step in shaping how cyber security protects a modern local government.
With a strong background in security operations, governance, risk management and incident response, you understand how to protect systems and data while enabling secure, practical outcomes for staff and services.
You are a confident people leader, able to guide specialist teams and manage partnerships with managed service providers, vendors and internal stakeholders. You know how to apply frameworks such as ISO 27001, Essential Eight and the VPDSF to strengthen resilience and meet compliance obligations.
You also understand the importance of promoting secure behaviours, building awareness and helping others make risk-informed decisions that protect Council’s digital environment.
This is a key leadership role where your strategic mindset, technical depth and strong communication skills will directly contribute to Council’s security maturity and organisational goals.
