Our Parkdale Family and Children’s Centre, rated Exceeding against the National Quality Standard, is seeking an experienced Diploma Qualified Educator to join our supportive and dynamic leadership team. This role would suit a confident room leader with experience leading teams in large learning environments, who enjoys working on the floor and is looking to step into a team leadership position that also involves fulfilling administrative and non-contact responsibilities.

The role

As the Education and Care Leader (Room Leader), you’ll lead a vibrant and engaging early years program in a beautiful, bustling room with 24 children per day. This role offers the opportunity to guide and mentor a large, experienced team of educators, fostering a positive, collaborative environment and ensuring smooth daily operations—all while delivering a high-quality education and care program.

Key duties include:

  • Supervise and Guide Early Years Educators: Oversee the work, lead and mentor a group of Early Years educators in your space.

  • Create Routines: Set up effective daily routines and systems within the classroom.

  • Administrative Duties: Manage a variety of administrative tasks, including scheduling planning time, arranging breaks, liaising with parents, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and overseeing health management plans.

  • Develop Curriculum: Plan, carry out, and assess the children's learning within the educational program.

  • Work Together and Collaborate: Collaborate with leaders, coworkers, families, children, and the community to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.

About you

We are looking for:

  • Minimum Qualification: Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care with prior experience working in a room leader position.
  • Dynamic Educator: Love working in a dynamic environment and confident in leading and mentoring a team of educators.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Deep knowledge of Victorian and National Curriculum Frameworks, National Quality Standards, and current regulations.
  • Clearances: Working with Children’s Check.
  • First Aid Certification: Level 2 First Aid, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management and CPR
