 About this opportunity: 

Kingston’s mowing crew is a newly established team, maintaining high profile sites across the municipality. Our team of six take pride in delivering top quality lawn maintenance which keeps our community spaces looking their best.

We’re looking for a Mowing Officer to join the team. In this role, you’ll help maintain Kingston’s high-profile open space lawns across community hubs, childcare centres, libraries and war memorials, ensuring our community enjoys safe, well-presented green spaces year-round.

What you’ll deliver                            

  • Complete tasks including mowing, brush cutting, edging, hand watering, weed control, mulching, fertilising, chemical spraying, chipper operation, chainsaw operation and asset management 
  • Inspect open spaces to identify areas in need of maintenance activities 
  • Identify the need for effective pest, weed and disease control in high profile open space sites, ensuring safe and appropriate controls are undertaken 
  • Identify and assist in managing required irrigation for high profile open spaces 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Skills and experience in maintaining open space/turf surfaces 
  • Competency in the safe operation of handheld and ride on mowing plant and equipment 
  • Competency in the use of fertilizers and other turf related products
