About the team 

The Arts, Events and Libraries Department at the City of Kingston is focused on the delivery of industry leading contemporary programs, activities, and events. Through innovation and continuous improvement, the department strives to provide high quality learning, recreational, social, and cultural outcomes for our community.

The City of Kingston Library Service operates eight public library branches, with major sites at Chelsea, Cheltenham, Parkdale and Westall, and minor sites at Clarinda, Dingley Village, Highett, and Patterson Lakes.

About the role

We are looking for a Program Support Officer to join our team. In this role, you will support the programming function of Kingston Library Service. The role fosters excellent customer relations relating to the delivery of programs, and supports general library functions in a library officer capacity within the service.

What you’ll deliver         

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to develop and deliver programs across 8 library branches, including stakeholder communication, invoicing, and scheduling.
  • Provide operational support for programs in Kingston's Library Service, including setup and pack-down.
  • Undertake Circulation Desk duties, as rostered, including evening and weekend work.
  • Assist with day-to-day administrative functions of the library service, including responding to customer enquiries and providing general administrative support, to ensure efficient operations.

What You’ll Bring

  • Exceptional administration skills and time management to collect and manage detailed program information.
  • Digital proficiency within MS Office software with strong capacity to navigate program and library platforms. 
  • Outstanding customer service within a network of program stakeholders, community and library staff and council colleagues to ensure programs run seamlessly.
  • Passion for library operations and able to support customers to access library collection and resources. 
  • Qualification in Library and Information Services is highly regarded.
